This cottage was designed with light and sun in mind as each of the rooms with their yellows, beiges and terracotta radiate an impression of airiness, space, warmth and sunlight. Externally this charming black and white cottage with the ornate dormer windows and porch has been imaginatively designed within a traditional courtyard setting next to Lavender and Appletree Cottage and is set in a peacefully haven in a spot which seems far away from the bustle and noise of Traffic and the everyday world yet only 150 yards from the shops, pubs and restaurants in the heart of the unspoilt traditional market town of Aberfeldy. This cottage sleeps six comfortably and each room has been furnished to a very high standard with designer fabrics and country pine furniture and all rooms offer excellent views of the hills and surrounding countryside of Highland Perthshire. Both the house and the secure garden offer absolute quietness, safety and privacy. The cottage is small and cosy enough to suit a couple yet large enough to accommodate a family of six. It is ideal for that holiday to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday, anniversary, Valentines Day or indeed just to enjoy a well-deserved break in what is a very accessible yet probably most beautiful part of Scotland.

Lilac Cottage is a spacious, comfortable and charming cottage thoughtfully and tastefully decorated, finished and maintained to an impeccable quality throughout with each room having co-ordinating fabrics, furniture and carpets. The living/dining room has a old fashioned pine fireplace with living flame fire, wide screen TV and DVD (with library) and a curved pine feature staircase rising from the lounge to the bedrooms. French doors lead outside to a secure secluded patio and garden area with barbeque, garden furniture and with wonderful open views across of the surrounding countryside to Weem Rock and the foothills of the extinct volcano shaped mountain of Farragon.

Off the lounge there is a fully fitted, modern, designer, beech kitchen complete with fully integrated appliances including fridge /freezer, dishwasher, washer/drier, electric oven, ceramic hob and built-in microwave. The kitchen has a small breakfasting area and contains every conceivable utensil and appliance that would be required on holiday. At the ground floor entrance in the hall there is a cloakroom with toilet and wash hand basin.

On the first floor there is a Victorian themed large king size double bedroom with colour TV/DVD and a fully tiled en-suite bathroom with a curved glass quadrant shower cubicle and a steel bath in the centre of the floor. There are a further two attractive twin room with zip and link beds which make up to doubles. They share a second fully tiled designer bathroom which also has a curved glass corner shower cubicle and a built in whirlpool hydro-massage bath.

The house is extremely well equipped and contains a radio/CD player, a good book library, games, a payphone, an iron& ironing board, travel cot and highchair. The house is fully double glazed throughout with a highly efficient full gas central heating. Duvets with linen are provided and ample towels for all six guests are provided free of charge. One well behaved pet welcome (possibly two allowed after discussion with the owner) and babysitting can be arranged.

The garden is secured all round and the car-parking area is safe and private. The house has barrier free access for wheelchairs. Local shops, pubs and restaurants can be easily accessed via a short level 150-yard traffic free walk past the old water mill and on into the town centre. Payment for fuel by guests is at normal domestic tariffs by meter reading before arrival and on departure.
