Sleeps: 6
As can be witnessed from the visitor book, everyone who enters this cottage is immediately impressed with the distinctive décor and comfortable ambiance. Not only does it look stunning, this cottage has been designed to pamper and spoil you (and lets face it we all need a bit of that now and again) with its large genuine Jacuzzi bath, steam cubicle and infrared sauna. It is situated in a delightful well-designed courtyard of traditional rural properties right next to Appletree Cottage and only a short walk via a leafy lane from the centre of Aberfeldy, a Scottish market town of old charm and steeped in folklore and tradition. Newly built, but with all the proportions and features of a 100-year old Perthshire country-style cottage, Lavender is white harled with black ornate woodwork detail. The cottage has splendid open views of the towering Weem Rock and the surrounding Highland Perthshire countryside from every room. Both the house and the secure garden offer absolute privacy and quietness (apart from the noise of birdsong). Cosy enough to suit a couple yet large enough to accommodate a self catering family of five or six without them being on top of each other. It is ideal for that break to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday, anniversary, Valentines Day or indeed just to enjoy a well-deserved pampered treat at an affordable price. In fact, why not link it to a discounted facial, head or body massage at Zest Health and Beauty by Lynn and Sarah Dark which is only 200 yards away; an exclusive offer for Aberfeldy Cottages self catering guests.
Lavender Cottage has been thoughtfully and tastefully designed with the de-stressing and calming influence of Lavender in mind. Each room has co-ordinating designer fabrics and carpets with country pine furniture. The living/dining room has a traditional mantle as a focal point with a living flame fire, a wide screen colour TV and DVD (with library) and a lovely curved pine feature staircase to the bedrooms. French doors lead to a Victorian conservatory with open, wonderful views of the surrounding countryside to Weem Rock and the foothills of the mountain of Farragon. The conservatory door leads outside to a secure secluded patio and garden with a barbeque area and garden furniture.
There is a fully fitted, modern, designer lemon coloured kitchen complete with fully integrated appliances including fridge /freezer, dishwasher, washer/drier, electric oven, ceramic hob and built-in microwave. The kitchen has a breakfasting area, which can seat five and the cottage contains every conceivable utensil and appliance that would be required on holiday. The large ground floor bathroom, all in white, has a curved glass corner shower cubicle, bath and infrared sauna cabin whose gentle treatment effects include melting away cellulite.
Upstairs there is a king size double bedroom with colour TV/DVD, a twin room with zip and link beds to make a double (both with fitted wardrobes) and a single bedroom with a pull out bed for an additional guest and a Velux window with a view of the hills to the north. The second upstairs, white tiled, bathroom also has a large curved glass corner shower with a fold down seat that enables it to double as a steam/aromatherapy cubicle. In addition this bathroom has a very large Jacuzzi hydro-massage bath, under floor heating and a constantly heated towel rail.
The cottage is has the modern conveniences of full, highly efficient gas central heating and is double-glazed throughout. It is extremely well equipped and contains a radio/CD player, a book library, games, BT payphone, iron and ironing board, travel cot and highchair. Duvets with linen are provided and ample towels for all guests are freely available. One well-behaved pet welcome (a second by arrangement may be possible) and a reliable babysitting service can be arranged. The garden is safe and secure and the car-parking area is well lit, safe and private. The house has barrier free access for wheelchairs. Local shops and amenities such as the visitor information centre, pubs and restaurants can be easily accessed via a short level 150-yard traffic free walk to the main street of Aberfeldy.
