You will find that Aberfeldy has its own unique, superb microclimate and that the weather experienced in Aberfeldy bears no resemblance to the official forecasts. The town is encircle by hills and the prevailing westerly wind either runs out of rainfall in the high hills to the west of Loch Tay or their path from Rannoch Moor is deflected to the north east by the presence of the mass of Schiehallion. Payment for fuel at the cottages is by meter readings taken on arrival and again on departure. They are calculated using normal domestic taffifs and can be paid by either cash or cheque. Typically a week in the summer would be around £15 and in the winter around an average of £25.
